A salon built around the colour
Room 97 has two homes — Trinity Walk in Wakefield and The Springs in Leeds — run by proprietor Karen and a team of stylists, colourists and educators who teach as well as they cut.
We are L’Oréal Professionnel colour specialists, and colour is where we spend our obsession — balayage, foils, corrections and tones mixed for your hair rather than off a chart. The cut and the finish are built to carry it.
No rush, no hard sell, no chart-by-numbers. A consultation, an honest opinion, and the time to get it right — which is exactly why people stay with their stylist for years.

In 2026 our colourist Laura made the UK semi-finals of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy — the industry’s longest-running colour competition, now in its 70th year. The techniques that go to the competition floor come straight back to your appointment.
It builds on a wall of recognition: five-time North Western Hairdresser of the Year and British Hairdressing Awards winners. We don’t lead with the trophies — but they tell you the colour is in good hands.

What the chair feels like
Where to start……Well got up this morning knowing I had a hair appt at 1.45, really felt like crap and even considered cancelling my appt, but thought better of it so in I went. Not really knowing what or how I wanted it cut, but after speaking with Meghan, and not really able to give her much to go on she seemed to get my brief, how the hell she did that I will never know. And the colour was another thing altogether. I had messed with it so much I thought it was a lost cause. I actually came away ecstatic…… The colour is amazing and looks so natural, the cut is unbelievable, she has gone above and beyond anything I thought possible. She certainly worked her magic on me today . Thank you Meghan, you are a superstar. P.S ….My partner came to pick me up and he said “That is The best cut and colour you have ever had = Happy days. After all these years I have now found a great stylist. Thanx again. Why is it every time I find a good stylist they take off on maternity leave . So today I meet the very love Beth, she worked her magic and I am over the moon, I will return and hopefully the very Talented Beth will still be there. Thank you once again. Happy indeed

I had my second appointment with Beth today for a clearance, cut and finish, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I first came to Beth three months ago in what felt like a complete hair emergency! From the very beginning, she was incredibly friendly, understanding, and helpful. Today's cut and finish was fantastic, and the blow-dry was honestly the best I've ever had 😍 My hair looks amazing, and I'm so excited to continue the journey with Beth. Amy did an amazing job as always. I honestly feel like she knows what I want better than I do sometimes! She listened carefully, gave great recommendations, and the results turned out even better than I expected.
